Dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for pensioners in Gibraltar through support, community engagement, and advocacy.
Welcome to Gibraltar Pensioners Association
How it all started
The Gibraltar Pensioners Association was created and registered as a charity in 2004 and the main impulse to bring about its creation was the commitment of Henry Smart. A distinguished member of the civil service who contributed to Gibraltar’s development and whilst chief officer of the customs service for many years.
Revitalisation of the Gibraltar Pensioners Association
The Association is now being revitalized to increase the scope of its activity and to ensure that it is there to provide support to Gibraltar resident pensioners. Promoting and protecting their interests and especially the protection of the institutions that currently are in place for the benefit of the pensionercommunity and engaging to bring about improvements where possible,
In pursuance of these objectives the Association wants to honour the pioneering work of Henry Smart as its founder.
The Association has recently reorganized its integral machinery to provide more support and assistance to its members, which is open to all existing pensioners and is engaged in promoting the Association to increase its membership of the Gibraltarian Pensioners Community of 8000 plus.
The Association is open to all Gibraltar resident pensioners, male or female, from the age of 60.
The Association is now in the process of renewing its membership and will be issuing new membership cards in the near future.
